The opportunity

Act as the Mechanical Construction Lead for all mechanical construction activities on a large-scale data center project. Monitor and report on the contractor’s execution of mechanical systems—including piping, HVAC, and BMS—to ensure compliance with design, quality, safety, and schedule requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Oversight & Compliance

  • Monitor contractor’s execution of mechanical works against approved design, specifications, and project schedule.
  • Verify adherence to client requirements, local regulations, and HSE standards.

Technical & Design Assurance

  • Review and comment on technical submittals, RFIs, and method statements for compliance and constructability.
  • Participate in design reviews and ensure alignment with site conditions and project objectives.

Interface & Coordination

  • Coordinate with other discipline leads (civil, electrical, architectural) to manage interfaces and avoid scope gaps.
  • Support resolution of technical and logistical issues in collaboration with the contractor and client teams.

Quality & Risk Monitoring

  • Conduct site inspections and audits to verify quality of mechanical installations.
  • Track NCRs, participate in risk reviews, and escalate issues promptly to project leadership.

HSE Assurance

  • Ensure contractor’s RAMS and LMRA processes are implemented and followed for all mechanical works.
  • Audit site activities for compliance with health, safety, and environmental standards.

Progress Monitoring & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate records of progress, risks, and issues.
  • Provide regular reports and dashboards to the client and project leadership.

Commissioning & Handover Support

  • Validate installed mechanical systems during testing and commissioning phases.
  • Ensure readiness for handover and compliance with documentation requirements.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Proven experience in PMC or client-representative roles on large-scale construction projects (data center experience preferred).
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical systems, including piping, HVAC, and BMS.
  • Ability to monitor and influence contractor performance without direct execution responsibility.
  • Familiarity with HSE standards, QA/QC processes, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.

All interviews are conducted either in person or virtually with video required.
