The opportunity

As a Substation Project Manager (HV) at Linesight, you will work with highly experienced, culturally diverse, and passionate teams nurturing a strong social dynamic and a shared sense of achievement. You will gain vast industry experience that will open doors for you, extend your skillset and expand your perspective. We will empower, support, and enable you to take real responsibility in your role so that you can take charge of your career progression with us. For us lasting trusted relationships are everything, both with our teams and our clients.

In this role you will:

  • Manage large‑scale high voltage, substation, and infrastructure construction projects for clients, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to a high-quality standard
  • Monitor day-to-day site activities, overseeing high voltage and substation works, managing the flow of information, and reporting and tracking issues related to progress, quality, and safety
  • Assist in completing the handover plan for high voltage and substation assets, ensuring all technical documentation, testing, and commissioning requirements are completed on time and to quality standards
  • Be a visible leader onsite, assessing construction progress and ensuring safe work practices, particularly in live high-voltage and substation environments
  • Coordinate with the client team, consultants, and contractors on all snagging and close‑out activities, including schedules, outages, energisation planning, and partner engagement
  • Proactively identify technical, safety, or programme risks associated with high voltage and substation works and work with the team to resolve them effectively
  • Implement and monitor key project processes, partnering with the client to drive continuous improvements in electrical, civil, and commissioning interfaces
  • Implement project procedures and use reasonable endeavours to ensure these are always observed across site and contractor teams
  • Lead and attend key meetings to monitor progress, collaborate on problem-solving, and communicate impacts to stakeholders
  • Review proposed variations, extensions of time, and delays related to high voltage and substation construction works

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Have project management experience, ideally within high voltage, substations, utilities, or major infrastructure projects
  • Have a degree or equivalent experience in project management, electrical engineering, construction management, or a related discipline
  • Hold a project management professional certification or are working toward one (we can support this)
  • Are detail-oriented and quality-focused, with a strong appreciation of safety in high-risk electrical environments
  • Are an excellent communicator, both verbally and in writing
  • Excel in a collaborative and friendly team environment
  • Thrive on building strong relationships with your team and clients through a shared purpose, openness, and a sense of fun
