Construction imminent on ‘landmark’ NCH project 22 July 2016

Construction is about to commence on the New Children’s Hospital in Dublin. This landmark date was celebrated with this week’s photo call at the site.

Linesight Associate Director Gary Comerford was present along with the design team and Minister for Health Simon Harris.

Speaking at the photo call, the Minister for Health said:

'The delivery of the new children’s hospital is a landmark capital project for this Government and for the country'.

Linesight is working as cost manager for the 118,000sq m hospital, which will be built within the existing St James’ Hospital campus.

Linesight’s role as cost managers on the project includes procurement, value management, life cycle costing, risk management and change management, as well as mechanical and electrical installations.

'We are proud to be part of this iconic project which will incorporate the best advances in medical architecture and clinical practice and will be one of the finest children’s hospitals in the world,”

said Peter McHale, Director at Linesight who heads up the practice’s Healthcare Division.

 

The hospital includes the following facilities:

  • 380 Single in-patient bedrooms, including 60 critical care beds
  • 18 Neonatal Critical care unit
  • 22 Operating theatres
  • 1,000 space basement car park
