The opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Application Manager to join our Enterprise Systems team and take ownership of a growing portfolio of business-critical enterprise applications.

This role is responsible for ensuring our applications are secure, reliable, well governed, and continually improved to support the business. You will act as the central point of ownership for a range of applications, working closely with business stakeholders, software vendors, and technical teams to ensure applications continue to deliver value throughout their lifecycle.

Initially, you will manage a number of applications, with responsibility expanding as new platforms are introduced.

 

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys combining technical application management with stakeholder engagement, vendor management, and continuous improvement.


In this role, you will:

  • Manage the day-to-day operation of a portfolio of enterprise applications.
  • Ensure applications remain available, secure, and fit for business use.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for application-related issues and requests.
  • Maintain application documentation, standards, and operational procedures.
  • Build strong working relationships with software vendors.
  • Coordinate vendor support, issue resolution, upgrades, and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor vendor performance and service quality.
  • Ensure vendors deliver against agreed service expectations.
  • Perform application administration including user management, permissions, configuration, and routine maintenance.
  • Coordinate testing and deployment of application updates.
  • Identify opportunities to optimise application performance and user experience.
  • You'll work closely with Business stakeholders to ensure applications continue to meet business needs while aligning with enterprise standards.
  • Identify opportunities to improve business processes through better use of technology.
  • Support the onboarding of new enterprise applications.
  • Help establish consistent application management standards and best practices across the organization.

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • have about 5 to 8 years' experience managing enterprise or business-critical applications.

  • Have experience administering commercial SaaS or enterprise software.

  • Have strong vendor management experience.

  • Have experience coordinating software upgrades, patches, and releases.

  • Have excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

  • Have a strong organizational and prioritization skills.

  • Have a proactive approach to problem solving and continuous improvement.

  • Will be someone who enjoys taking ownership, building relationships, and ensuring enterprise applications run smoothly and effectively.

Desirable Experience

 

It would be advantageous if you also have experience with:

  • Jira or other Atlassian products.
  • Enterprise SaaS platforms.
  • ITIL or IT Service Management practices.
  • Working alongside integration, security, and architecture teams.
  • Managing or mentoring team members.
