Another key milestone has been reached with the new Dublin Air Traffic Control Tower, which has achieved substantial completion on schedule at the end of March 2019. The tower, on which Linesight is providing Cost Management services, stands at 86.9m, as one of Ireland’s tallest structures.
The development comprises the Visual Control Tower and a pavilion building linked by a glazed link bridge. The main contract also included landscaping and the construction of a security hut, which facilitates secure access to the new IAA carpark provided under the enabling works contract.
The IAA will begin operations in the new tower in early 2020, following installation, commissioning and testing of its air traffic management equipment.
Other project team members include Scott Tallon Walker Architects, ARUP, BAM, Mercury Engineering,
H A O’Neil, MSA, ProCert, Irish Sprinkler and Kone.
