Landmark Cork tower gets go-ahead

Planning permission has been granted on a 34-storey hotel and commercial tower, located
on Custom House Quay in Cork City, which will be the tallest building within
the Republic of Ireland upon its completion. Linesight is delighted to be
providing Cost Management services on this historic project on behalf of New
York-based Tower Holdings.

The plans include proposals to rebuild bonded warehouses on the site as a maritime
museum and shopping area, along with a distillery at the property’s eastern end.

The developer also intends to restore Cork’s Custom House building and
incorporating that into the project. It is estimated that the development, on
an old Port of Cork site, will create up to 800 jobs.
