Expanding critical data centre capacity in Malaysia

Linesight provided cost management and commercial advisory services for a major hyperscale data centre expansion and upgrade programme in Cyberjaya, Malaysia. 

The project involved the refurbishment and enhancement of operational data hall facilities, together with the phased fit-out of additional data centre capacity within an existing multi-storey facility. The programme was delivered while maintaining alignment with international data centre performance and reliability standards. 

Key elements of the works included:

• Upgrades and reconfiguration of critical electrical infrastructure to enhance resilience and operational reliability. 
• Integration of new standby power systems and associated distribution networks. 
• Implementation and enhancement of building management, security, and information technology systems. 
• Delivery support for testing, commissioning, and operational readiness activities. 
• Fit-out of new data halls and associated technical spaces within previously undeveloped areas of the facility. 
• Installation of new mechanical cooling infrastructure, including chilled water and environmental control systems. 
• Construction of supporting plant rooms, operational spaces, and ancillary facilities. 
• Delivery of fire protection, life safety, and monitoring systems throughout the expanded facility.
  

The programme required careful coordination across multiple phases of work, balancing ongoing operational requirements with the delivery of new critical infrastructure and future capacity expansion.
