The ILOS Tipperary solar cluster has reached an important milestone, with construction and commissioning largely complete across the Erkina, Derrymore and Monaincha solar farms. The development is progressing through its final energisation phases and is already exporting renewable electricity to Ireland’s national grid.
The three sites are interconnected by medium-voltage cabling and connected to the grid through a newly constructed substation. Spanning more than 230 hectares, the development includes ground-mounted photovoltaic panels, inverters, transformers, underground cabling and associated infrastructure
At 222 MW planned capacity, the Tipperary solar cluster is among Ireland’s largest solar energy developments and will make a meaningful contribution to the country’s energy transition and long-term energy resilience.
The scale and complexity of the programme have presented distinct delivery challenges, including construction on bogland terrain, a challenging procurement market, and tight delivery timelines.
Linesight has supported ILOS through project management, cost management, schedule management, health and safety, and document management services. Our experienced team has also managed external consultants and supported progress through internal client processes.
