We are seeking an experienced legal professional to step into the role of Group General Counsel on a maternity cover basis. This is a strategic leadership position responsible for overseeing all legal aspects of the business globally, ensuring compliance, mitigating risk, and advising senior leadership on legal matters.


In this role you will:

  • Provide strategic legal advice to the executive team and board on corporate, commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters.
  • Lead and manage the global legal function, including external counsel relationships.
  • Oversee legal aspects of mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.
  • Ensure compliance with international laws and regulations across jurisdictions
  • Draft, review, and negotiate high-value contracts and agreements.
  • Advise on employment law, data protection, intellectual property, and dispute resolution.
  • Support governance and company secretarial duties, including board meetings and filings.
  • Monitor legislative changes and assess their impact on the business. 

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Qualified solicitor or barrister with a minimum of 10 years’ post-qualification experience.
  • Proven track record as General Counsel or in a senior legal leadership role within a multinational or consultancy environment.
  • Strong knowledge of corporate, commercial, and regulatory law.
  • Experience managing legal teams and working with cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
  • Ability to operate with discretion, integrity, and sound judgment.
  • Beneficial to have experience in the construction, engineering, or consultancy sectors.
  • Familiarity with international legal frameworks and multi-jurisdictional operations.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to risk management and compliance.
