The opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Construction Manager to act as an extension of the client organization in the delivery of an 80MW DC project.  The role involves overseeing and coordinating the activities of multiple Construction Packages. The role is pivotal in ensuring that contractors deliver works in line with client expectations for schedule, quality, Health and Safety, and commissioning.

The successful candidate will be responsible for site-based oversight, monitoring, and reporting, ensuring that all construction activities are executed to the highest standards and in compliance with contractual, regulatory, and safety requirements.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Leadership & Delegation
    • Supervise and mentor a team of individual Construction Package Managers.
    • Delegate tasks effectively while maintaining accountability and performance standards.
    • Foster a collaborative and proactive team environment focused on collaboration, ownership, and delivery.
  • Construction Oversight
    • Monitor daily site activities and ensure alignment with project schedules and milestones.
    • Identify and resolve construction issues in coordination with contractors and client stakeholders.
    • Ensure timely escalation of risks and delays.
  • Interface with Quality & Commissioning
    • Collaborate closely with the Quality Manager to support inspections, audits, and resolution of quality issues.
    • Work alongside the Commissioning Lead to ensure construction activities are aligned with commissioning requirements and timelines.
    • Facilitate coordination between construction and commissioning teams to ensure smooth transitions.
  • Health & Safety
    • Champion a safety-first culture across all site activities.
    • Monitor contractor compliance with health and safety regulations.
    • Participate in safety walks and incident investigations.
  • Stakeholder Management
    • Act as a key liaison between the client and contractors.
    • Facilitate clear communication and alignment across all parties.
    • Prepare and present progress reports, dashboards, and updates to senior stakeholders.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, consultants, and client stakeholders.
    • Ensure alignment of expectations and proactive communication across all parties.
  • Reporting & Communication
    • Produce clear, concise, and insightful progress reports and dashboards tailored to client needs.
    • Communicate complex issues effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
