Linesight dominating in Silicon Docks

Dublin’s Silicon Dock Strategic Development Zone with over 1.5m sq m of Grade A Offices and high end residential projects on site or about to go to site is currently being dominated by Linesight. The value of this construction work is in excess of €500m.

Silicon Docks, as it is has become known, is undergoing an unprecedented volume of construction as multiple developments works are in progress simultaneously. The works will significantly contribute towards addressing the pent up demand for high-quality commercial office space and residential accommodation. This area of Dublin has become a hotbed for major economic and community expansion and is attracting both multinational and national technology and B2B companies alike. The profile of clients moving into the area is world-class. Linesight is at this centre of this action working on over eight projects concurrently including work for TIO, Cairn Homes, Park Developments, Kennedy Wilson and Boland’s Mills on a variety of sites on Hanover Quay, Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, City Quay and Barrow Street.

Linesight is being repeatedly called upon to work on commercial and mixed-use developments of this kind predominantly because of;

  • A high level of experience in commercial and residential development
  • Deep domain knowledge and expertise that can be brought to bear in planning and execution
  • Availability of large highly competent teams on the ground in Dublin

The Strategic Development Zone

The Strategic Development Zone (SDZ) was established in 2014 in the North Lotts and Grand Canal Dock area, where 22 hectares remained undeveloped. The remaining development land will bring 23,000 workers into an area running from the Samuel Beckett Bridge to the East Link Bridge and will house almost 6,000 new residents.

Bright Future

It is no secret that the increase in commercial and mixed-use developments has been spiking of late and is focused on a very compact area of the city however transport and communications infrastructure as well as pubic amenity and recreational space has also been accounted for. The communities as a whole should expect to benefit from the investments made. The strategy has also improved connectivity between the city centre and this new emerging business district. Linesight can lay claim to the majority of the cost and project management work. It cannot be underestimated the value of being able to bring experienced, large teams to site on demand for Linesight’s clients. The clarity that Linesight can offer on how to navigate through the challenges that can be faced, the commitment of the resources available to clients from project inception through to conclusion coupled with the consistent experience that clients have in working with Linesight teams all contribute to their selection on some of the most prestigious work happening in Dublin right now.
