Linesight supported a confidential Food and Beverage client on its first carbon-neutral distillery facility, providing Cost Management and Procurement services. Sitting on 400 acres, the new facility had the capacity to produce 20 million LAAs (litres of absolute alcohol) annually and included a distillery, as well as blending and warehousing operations, with potential for future expansion. The new distillery was intended to supplement the company’s existing manufacturing operations in the region and support its growth ambitions for its top‑selling brand.
Recognising the importance of low carbon solutions for a sustainable future, this global beverage company put sustainability at the center of the facility’s design and development plans. The facility featured resource‑efficient technologies and operated using 100 percent renewable energy to ensure the distillery was carbon neutral and zero‑waste to landfill from all direct operations.
Designed to allow for seamless future expansion, the project also incorporated many innovative features. Mechanical Vapor Recompression (MVR) technology reduced evaporation energy by 90 percent and, in some cases, more. Adiabatic cooling, when compared to a conventional cooling tower system, facilitated lower water consumption, helping preserve the area’s water resources.
Once operational, the new facility was expected to bring a positive economic impact to the local community, furthering the company’s commitment to generosity and giving back.
