76 Sir John Rogerson’s Quay Achieves LEED v4 Gold Certification

76 Sir John Rogerson’s Quay in Dublin, on which Linesight provided Cost and Project Management services, has achieved LEED v4 Gold certification. The Grade A office building spans 100,000sq.ft. and nine floors, and is positioned in Dublin’s Docklands. Its waterfront location lends itself well to the fact that 80% of all regularly occupied spaces have views to
external features. The building is designed to reduce energy consumption by 26% each year, with fixture selection and rainwater harvesting supporting potable water use by over 47%.

In terms of system usage to support the sustainability of this development, both mechanical and building systems were employed to achieve efficiencies. Enhanced ventilation systems were installed, and refrigeration use was reduced to minimise ozone depletion and global warming potential. Smart technology by way of metering is in use, to manage consumption and alert the building team to any spikes or leakage.

Overall, this project had an innate focus on the environmental impact of not only its operation as noted above, but also its construction. During the construction phase, the environmental performance of the materials was in focus, with over 20 products with third-party verified
Environmental Products Declarations (EPDs) used, and over 80% of construction and demolition waste diverted from landfill and incineration during construction.

Congratulations to the client and project team on this milestone achievement – RKD Architects, Bennett Construction, Barrett Mahony Consulting Engineers, Ethos Engineering and Walsh Group.
