As the sole Road Authority in Northern Ireland, it is the responsibility of DFI Roads to ensure that the region’s road infrastructure is developed and maintained to the highest and safest of standards. The A6 Randalstown to Castledawson route was identified as a section of road that needed considerable upgrading, and the client sought to engage service providers with the appropriate expertise to oversee the design and construction of the project. The project involves the development of two 7 kilometer stretches of dual carriageway between Randalstown and Toome, to join the existing Toome bypass at Drumderg roundabout, and Toome and Castledawson. Linesight was engaged throughout all phases of the project. Our proven track record and excellent reputation in transport and infrastructure was paramount to the project's success.
Our team has overall responsibility for the cost management and procurement of the project. We developed all pre-qualification and tender documents including contract data, and prepared the tender analysis report. We guided the process on behalf of the client from the outset, developing a comprehensive price assessment model to facilitate the procurement process and agreement of the Target with the contractor. Our team worked closely with the contractor to develop a cost reporting system for the construction period.
