As a multiplatform property company, Domain made it clear from the outset that they wanted a unique, professional space that fostered and facilitated teamwork at all levels. Ultimately, the client sought to create a ‘home away from home’ for its team – a truly unique and collaborative space where employees would be excited to spend time. Given Linesight’s extensive fit-out experience, the team was engaged to act as the cost managers on the project.
Linesight provided Cost Management services on the fit-out of Domain’s Sydney headquarters. The former Woolshed was completely redesigned to not only fit an aesthetic, but also to be practical and functional. Large picturesque windows and the new central atrium allow natural light to flood in, matching the aesthetic and improving the building’s overall sustainability. Many considerations went into renovating the interior of the heritage-listed building, such as incorporating original, aged timber columns into the design. This resulted in the stunning, multistorey, open-plan workspace that Domain was looking for.
The project was shortlisted for the prestigious Sydney Design Awards in 2017, in the ‘Interior Design – Corporate & Commercial’ category. Linesight was delighted to have been a part of the team on this impressive project, alongside an esteemed team of professionals, including Siren Design as architects and Shape as contractors and project managers. The team worked cohesively to create an exceptional work area for Domain, with the ‘home away from home’ concept well-executed as a key client requirement.
